Janice endures town gossip for four reasons—her heavy lipstick, oversized hair, single‑mother status, and the fact her two children are considered odd. Six‑year‑old Ray is a constant troublemaker, while nine‑year‑old Tony lives with autism. When Tony finally sits at the piano and gently plays “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,” Janice sees a glimmer of hope for his future and for their family.
