In the final minutes the tension that has been building around Margot’s bizarre claims finally erupts. After Ozzie and Darren have pieced together the evidence—hidden cameras, the mysterious powder in the smoothies, and the fact that Jonah was adopted—Ozzie confronts the mother when she attacks. Margot’s desperation turns violent; she kills Darren and maims Ozzie, confirming that her behavior has crossed the line into outright abuse.

Just as Ozzie lies on the floor, barely breathing, Jonah—still insisting he is a Centauri—reaches out with the strange energy he has displayed throughout the film. He channels that force into Ozzie, reviving him in a way that mirrors the healer Henrik’s “energy‑healing” scenes. The moment feels both supernatural and intimate, as if Jonah is trying to repay the protection Ozzie has offered him.

From the darkness above, a silent, hovering craft materialises. The UFO’s beam descends, enveloping both the crippled boy and the newly healed Ozzie. They are lifted away, disappearing into the night sky. Margot watches the spectacle with an unsettling calm, suggesting she may have known this outcome all along—perhaps even cooperating with whatever force took her son the first time.

The ending leaves two possibilities hanging. On one hand, the abduction is presented as literal, giving weight to Jonah’s “Centauri” identity and vindicating Margot’s alien narrative. On the other, the film’s earlier focus on abuse, isolation, and Margot’s erratic behavior allows viewers to read the UFO as a symbolic rescue from a horrifying domestic reality. Either way, the climax ties Ozzie’s childhood trauma—his own unacknowledged UFO sighting—to this final, otherworldly departure, implying that his lifelong search for an answer ends with a homecoming that is both literal and metaphorical. The story closes on that ambiguous lift‑off, refusing a tidy resolution and inviting the audience to decide which version of the truth feels more plausible.
