Li Zhenfei, an imperial concubine, rivals Madame Liu for the emperor’s favor. After Li bears his child, Liu swaps the infant for a cat and orders servant Kou Zhu to kill the baby. Kou spares the child, delivering him to the emperor’s brother, eventually leading to the prince’s adoption by the emperor himself. Confined to the palace, Li is barred from her son until destiny reunites them, while Liu’s treachery threatens the fragile family.
