Drama

Set in March 1968 amid student protests, a passionate student rejects the dean’s decision to expel a peer on false charges and quits university rather than compromise. He loses his girlfriend and housing, becomes a coal delivery worker, witnesses a fatal accident, and writes a manuscript. When a publisher demands edits, he refuses and the work is shelved. Later the story is adapted into a successful film, bringing fame to the original author.
