Prague actor Bergner (Milos Kopecký) leads a production of Molière’s *The Misanthrope*, yet his intolerant, spiteful nature sabotages everyone: he provokes newcomer Helenka, upsets the director, and never apologises after nearly hitting an elderly lady, calling her an “old ballet dancer.” He boasts about his manners on Brno TV, but a mysterious old man on a train warns him to change, and the warning comes true when he returns to Prague.
