Based on a 1988 true crime in Sweden, the story follows a Finnish couple who kill a boy and his parents after the child thwarts their attempt to steal his bicycle. The film explores the dynamic between the domineering Jari, who calls himself “Il Capitano,” and his more composed companion Minna, whose bond gradually becomes a codependent relationship.
