James Murfin, a marine visiting Iceland, knows little about local customs. A harmless flirt with Katina is taken by her family as a formal marriage proposal, trapping him in an unwanted engagement. Desperate, James enlists his friend to escape, leading to comic misunderstandings, cultural clashes, and Sonja’s surprise hula dance on the ice.
