One year after their previous adventures, Tom Sawyer stays home, preoccupied with his crush on Becky Thatcher, while Huck Finn rebels against school, shoes and other “civilizing” pressures and plans to run away. After his abusive father intervenes, Tom and the escaped slave Jim help Huck escape. The three raft down the Mississippi, joined by two likable rogues and the orphan sisters Ella and Mary Jane, who may finally change Huck’s view of girls.
