In the climactic train assault, Ko‑Wah discovers that the carriage he thought held the gold is actually the one where the Japanese lieutenant has taken Chomchan, her daughter Chompen, and Luang Arunpiwat hostage. Determined to protect the woman he still loves, Ko‑Wah adjusts his plan, but the trap unravels: the Japanese officer threatens to kill Chomchan, prompting a frantic chase atop the moving train. In a frantic struggle, Ko‑Wah overpowers the lieutenant and thrusts an explosive into his mouth, killing him instantly.
