Glenn Gould’s monologue in this documentary reflects on Toronto’s quiet peace, its occasional off‑putting stillness, and the ‘cultural mosaic’ that defines the city. He notes how Toronto avoided the 1960s hollowing that hit many U.S. cities and enjoys a friendly rivalry with Montreal. He mixes observations, dry humor and childhood memories, revealing a nuanced, neither wholly praising nor wholly critical, lifelong bond with the city.
