In 1944 a border town on the Danube is occupied by German forces and riddled with collaborators. Several young men enlist with the partisans, kill a Serbian and leave his corpse in the village, explicitly forbidding anyone to bury it. Defiantly, Anastasia refuses to carry out the order, standing against the imposed cruelty.
