During World War II, a Spanish double agent known as Garbo worked in Lisbon, skillfully manipulating events to influence the war’s outcome. Under the codename Garbo, he crafted elaborate deceptions, providing false information to the Nazis and establishing a fictional network of operatives throughout Europe. His strategic maneuvers proved vital in saving countless lives, notably by diverting German attention away from the timing and location of the D-Day landings. Garbo remains a largely unknown hero of the conflict.
