Set entirely without dialogue, the film relies on a musical score, sound effects and muffled mutterings as it follows a weekend at the crumbling country house of the lewd General Futtock (Ronnie Barker). Amid the decaying setting, the staff—led by the lecherous butler played by Michael Hordern—become entangled in a series of risqué mishaps with the guests.
