The title Dal polo all’equatore was used by Luca Comerio in 1925 and revived by Yervant Gianikian and Angela Ricci Lucchi in 1985. They re‑shot, slowed, tinted and re‑edited the found footage, adding a score. It turns colonial travel into a sinister vision, with hunting violence suggesting war’s logic. The railway opening frames a meditation on memory.
