Cowboy Ross McEwen rides into a frontier town and asks a banker for a $2000 loan, offering his six‑gun as collateral. The banker hands over the cash on a dubious I.O.U. signed “Jefferson Davis.” After being bitten by a rattlesnake, McEwen catches a train where nurse Miss Hollister tends his wound. A posse hunts him, while a sharp‑tongued Mexican bounty hunter also tracks the outlaw, each hoping to claim the reward.
