Set on the outskirts of West Philadelphia in the early 1960s, this quasi‑musical comedy gradually slides into horror. For fifteen years the graduation ball has been the exclusive domain of the “Foons,” a clique of self‑styled cool kids who revel in odd ideas of fun. This year they decide to invite the nerdy underdogs, sparking the age‑old rivalry that erupts in flamboyant costumes and wildly eccentric hairdos.
