Female Prisoner Scorpion: Jailhouse 41

Matsushima is locked in underground solitary confinement and must endure brutal conditions. She begins to improvise a weapon by grinding a spoon against the concrete in her mouth, saving it for use. Her mindset shifts toward survival and potential retaliation.

During a prison inspection, Goda is slated for promotion. Matsushima is brought out for one day, and she launches a sudden attack, scratching Goda's face. The other prisoners riot, but the guards manage to defuse the outbreak.

To suppress any spark of revolt, Goda orders the prisoners sent to an intensive labour camp. The brutal separation serves as punishment and deterrence. The inmates endure harsh conditions as they depart.

Returning from the labour camp, Matsushima is publicly raped by four guards under Goda's orders. The other prisoners beat Matsushima in the wake of the assault, and the guards fear she might be dead.

In the van transporting prisoners, Matsushima strangles and kills one guard. Oba and the other prisoners restrain the second guard and blow up the van to escape. Goda immediately mobilizes search parties to track them down.

The fugitives reach an abandoned village where Oba reveals the crimes of the others. They encounter a mysterious old woman with a dagger who guides the revelations through surreal images. She gives Matsushima a knife before she dies, and her body turns into leaves blown away by the wind.

The prisoners decide to steal new clothes from a nearby town and then hide in an abandoned hut to lie low for the night. The surreal elements continue to loom as they plan their next moves.

Haru sneaks to her own home to see her son, but two jailers confront her and offer freedom if she reveals the others' locations. She refuses, distraught, and a guard follows her while the others hold position. Matsushima kills the pursuing guard, and a fellow prisoner dies in the ensuing struggle.

Three aggressive men from a sightseeing group rape one of the prisoners, drawing a violent response from the others. The prisoners hijack the bus, torturing, stripping, and binding the men while harassing the other passengers.

As the bus nears a checkpoint, Oba uses Matsushima as a decoy and pretends she has been captured. A roadblock with Haru's son on a truck is arranged, and Haru tries to reach him but is shot by sniper guards.

Oba orders the prisoners to kill the hostages, killing the bus driver and taking control of the vehicle. Police attempt a retake, but the situation escalates into a deadly confrontation.

The bus is cornered by police. Matsushima lies about the hostages’ fate to lure the police closer. A brutal fight follows, and all prisoners except Oba die; Oba is injured and later dies as Matsushima secures her escape.

Goda is promoted to a city post after the crackdown, but Matsushima tracks him down and kills him with multiple stabbings. The film ends with a surreal image of all the female prisoners running free in the city, passing Matsushima’s dagger among them.

The final montage emphasizes release over punishment as the former inmates stride through the city in their striped dresses, each handling Matsushima's dagger in a ritual of solidarity. The surreal ending underscores the cycle of oppression and revenge that defined their escape.
