Ekam, a young Punjabi man, has been admitted to a Los Angeles university and travels to the US. On the plane, he meets Jasmine, a US resident who will become a key ally. This chance meeting foreshadows the cross-cultural link that drives the plot.

At the Los Angeles border, officers do not deny entry but arrest him on suspicion of being the criminal Shinda. They believe Ekam bears a new identity or is impersonating Shinda. He must prove he is not Shinda to avoid a deadly fate.

Ekam asks Jasmine for help navigating the charges and seeking legal representation. Jasmine contacts Punjabi lawyer Karanvir Jatana, who agrees to take Ekam's case after a quick background check. The case marks the beginning of a legal battle to clear Ekam's name.

Jatana and Jasmine go to Shinda's house to collect evidence for Ekam's defense. They discover a diary believed to belong to Sunny, Shinda's cousin and right-hand man, which reveals a much larger backstory. The diary becomes the key to understanding who Shinda really is.

The diary recounts Shinda's life as an illegal immigrant who earns money through brutal fighting contests. Sunny loses US$100,000 in gambling, with US$80,000 borrowed from the mobster Frank, who threatens to kill him if the debt isn't repaid. To help Sunny, Kaptaan proposes that Shinda fight in an even more brutal contest, pitting him against a deadly rival.

Shinda defeats his rival by killing him in the arena, proving his brutal prowess. Kaptaan is impressed and wants Shinda to work for him in future fights. This marks a turning point where Shinda's actions draw the attention of powerful mafias.

Kaptaan kidnaps Shinda's girlfriend Nicky and demands a ransom of US$500,000. He intends to pressure Shinda into joining his operations. Shinda rejects the plot, vowing to pay the ransom on his own.

Shinda stages a daring rescue by killing five kidnappers, two of whom are later identified as police, revealing that Kaptaan has connections with law enforcement. His actions heighten the sense that the fight against Kaptaan is more than just a personal vendetta. The rescue also deepens Shinda's resolve to resist Kaptaan's control.

With the immediate danger unresolved, the diary ends as Shinda, Sunny, and Nicky prepare to confront Kaptaan. The entries hint at a looming confrontation that will shape the fate of everyone involved. The plan to meet Kaptaan sets the stage for future events.

Jatana and Ekam visit Sunny's girlfriend Preeti and are shocked to see a photo of Nicky. They realize that Jasmine, the woman Ekam met on the plane, is actually Nicky in disguise. The revelation challenges their understanding of Ekam's situation.

Confronted by Jatana and Ekam, Jasmine admits she is Nicky and explains her decision to hide her identity to protect Ekam. She reveals her involvement with Sunny, Shinda, and Kaptaan’s world was more complex than Ekam knew. The confession reframes Ekam's situation, showing he was not the villain but a target of a ruthless circle.

Nicky explains that Sunny was shot by Kaptaan, and thereafter Shinda and Nicky went on the run from the police. The pursuit ends in an accidental blast that kills Shinda in front of Nicky. These events solidify the danger surrounding Kaptaan and the cost of their war.

In court, Nicky testifies that she witnessed Shinda's death, convincing the judge that Ekam is not Shinda. The not-guilty verdict effectively clears Ekam's name and reframes the case as a matter of mistaken identity solved by the testimony. The courtroom moment seals Ekam's fate as a non-Shinda.

Jatana, seeking final clarity, calls Ekam's claimed mother and learns that Ekam is, in fact, Shinda. Ekam admits he faked his identity to re-enter the US for revenge. The revelation ties Ekam's past to the present crime and explains the danger surrounding him.

Shinda confronts Kaptaan in a climactic duel and finally defeats him by killing Kaptaan. The duel marks the culmination of Shinda's revenge against those who wronged him and his allies. The battle resolves the immediate threat posed by Kaptaan, but the costs linger.
