The police arrive at Gianni’s wedding, assuming the worst. Because Simone had once texted a threatening joke and blood was found where the bachelor party had been held, the investigators arrest the whole group. When the case is presented, the judge is shown the missing‑night’s surveillance footage. The camera catches Simone grabbing the championship trophy in a drunken rage, only to collapse and vomit, losing consciousness. Gianni stumbles, cuts his forehead, but steadies himself, cleans Simone up and, before leaving, slips a handwritten note into Simone’s coat pocket. In the note Gianni admits he can no longer picture the life Bianca wants for him—marriage, children, a quiet suburb—and decides to disappear rather than face that future.

Back at the wedding, Bianca, devastated by being stood up, asks Gianni’s friends for a final meeting. The group realizes that their obsession with fantasy football has been a way to avoid their own fears: Simone’s fear of commitment, Francesco’s academic anxieties, Jacopo’s drug habit, Nicola’s marital collapse, and Federico’s concealment of his sexuality. Instead of letting Gianni run away, they decide to track him down, recalling that Mykonos was the place where Simone and Gianni first escaped together.

In Mykonos the friends finally locate Gianni at a small eatery. He is relieved to see them but senses Simone’s disappointment. After a brief confrontation, Gianni asks for a second chance, and the friends forgive him. Simone, still hurt by Gianni’s betrayal with Andrea, understands that fleeing has only postponed their problems. Bianca arrives for closure, and Gianni is given the chance to speak with her one last time.

The film then follows each character as they begin to confront their own avoidance. Nicola attempts to reconcile with his wife, only to discover she’s involved with his football idol—turning heartbreak into a bizarre selfie. Federico finally comes out to his parents; the reaction is chaotic, but at least his secret is out. Even the judge and the police, impressed by the group’s passion, pick up fantasy football as a hobby.

The romantic subplot resolves when Andrea, who had previously hinted at feelings for Simone, finally acknowledges that she never truly loved Gianni, only admired him. Simone, having let go of his resentment, shares a kiss with Andrea, suggesting they will try a real relationship.

In the end, the friends remain bound by their love of fantasy football, but they have learned that the game can no longer be an excuse to run from life. They face their responsibilities, mend broken ties, and, most importantly, stop letting escapism dictate their futures.
