Everything Everywhere All At Once concludes with a powerful affirmation of life's value amidst infinite meaninglessness. The film posits that the multiverse is created by every decision a person makes, resulting in endless possibilities where one might be a movie star, a chef, or even a rock. While other versions of Evelyn Wang found success in these diverging paths, the Evelyn we follow feels trapped by her underachievements and regret. Paradoxically, this dissatisfaction and her "failed" life make her the perfect candidate to save existence; because she has never truly committed to a single path, her potential is limitless, allowing her to "verse-jump" and borrow skills from her alternate selves to fight the film's antagonist, Jobu Tupaki.

Jobu Tupaki, a version of Evelyn's daughter Joy, represents the terrifying opposite of potential. Having been pushed too far to explore the multiverse, her mind shattered, and she now sees everything at once. This leads her to a nihilistic conclusion: if everything happens and anything is possible, then nothing really matters. She creates the Everything Bagel, a literal black hole born from placing all of life's joys and sorrows into one object, intending to let it swallow the universe. The climax sees Evelyn resisting this void. Instead of succumbing to the despair that nothing matters, she realizes that in a chaotic, indifferent universe, the only things that hold weight are love and human connection.

Evelyn ultimately resolves the conflict not by destroying Jobu Tupaki, but by accepting her daughter, Joy, unconditionally. In a poignant reversal of their earlier conflict, Evelyn realizes she does not need Joy to change or meet specific expectations; she simply wants to be with her. This breaks the cycle of generational trauma that caused the rift between them in the first place. By embracing the chaotic reality of the multiverse while choosing to focus on the specific, tangible love for her family, Evelyn pulls Joy back from the brink. The movie ends not with a grand cosmic victory, but with a quiet, profound understanding: even when faced with the infinite meaninglessness of existence, we can still choose to be kind and present for one another.
