Ex‑Confederate officer Clay Fletcher travels to El Paso at his father’s request to obtain Judge Jeffers’ signature for a legal document, hoping to reunite with former love Susan Jeffers. He discovers the once‑respectable judge reduced to a drunken stooge for magnate Bert Donner and Sheriff La Farge. As Clay begins to clean up the town, he abandons the law and adopts vigilante justice.
