Unemployed salesman Wolfgang stays optimistic, while his friend Günther, more realistic, sees their situation as hopeless. When zookeeper Günther finds a stash of several hundred thousand euros hidden by their eccentric, mentally‑ill neighbor, the pair keep the money and, out of guilt, agree to care for the old man, leading to comic mishaps.
