Doraemon: Nobita and the Legend of the Sun King

Modern-day Nobita is a kind-hearted, curious student who loves adventures with Doraemon. When he temporarily takes on Tio’s role, he must lead with compassion and humility rather than bravado. He proves resourceful and loyal, using his wits and friendships to help Mayana and protect his friends.

Prince Tio starts out proud and hot-tempered, which clashes with Nobita’s gentle approach during the swap. The experience exposes him to modern technology and a different way of relating to people. Over time, he learns to value friendship and responsibility, risking himself to help others.

Popol is a jerboa-like pet whose mischief triggers Nobita and Doraemon’s journey to Mayana. In Mayana, Popol serves as a loyal companion, guiding the group through the magical and dangerous landscapes while adding humor and whimsy.

Kuku is Tio’s childhood friend who secretly harbors a crush on him. She helps Nobita when he embodies Tio, offers a necklace that becomes a symbol of trust, and is later captured in Ledina’s plot, becoming a pivotal figure in the rescue.

Gian is the hot-headed member of Nobita’s circle whose overbearing behavior triggers trouble in both worlds. He experiences consequences in Japan and contributes to the group dynamic during their quest to rescue Kuku.

Shizuka remains Nobita’s moral compass, expressing concern over Nobita’s behavior and helping drive the plan to reveal the swap. She supports the group’s efforts and helps navigate the cultural shifts Nobita experiences in Mayana.

Doraemon acts as the guide and gadget master, supplying tools through his four-dimensional pocket. He helps Nobita and Tio navigate dangers, orchestrates a rescue, and contributes to restoring balance between the two worlds.

Suneo is part of the friend group accompanying Nobita, Gian, and Shizuka. He contributes to the dynamic of the modern Japan segments and the shared adventures across both worlds.

Tamako is Nobita’s mother, seen in the modern Japan sequences. She embodies the family perspective and supports Nobita’s involvement in adventures, even as the stakes rise.
