In the final scenes the church finally grants the nullification Jacek and Malgosia have been chasing for years. After the priest dismisses their fabricated story about Jacek’s drunken vows, Jacek breaks down and honestly admits that they had married far too young, driven by pressure rather than love, and that his immaturity cost Malgosia the support she needed. His confession convinces the tribunal to dissolve the marriage, freeing both of them to move on.
With the paperwork finally settled, Malgosia and her husband Andrzej attend Jacek’s white‑wedding to Monika. Watching Jacek exchange vows, Malgosia feels genuine joy for his happiness, a sign that their past has truly become a shared memory rather than an unfinished chapter. Back home, she repairs the strain with Andrzej, expressing her love and gratitude; the sincerity of her words is enough for him, and they reconnect intimately in the car, reaffirming their bond. Earlier, a broken‑down bus forces Malgosia’s school band—her daughter Ala’s group—to improvise a performance on a tractor, prompting her to let the musicians play modern pieces. The bold choice dazzles the audience and, more importantly, restores Malgosia’s confidence in listening to Ala’s wishes. The film closes on this note of renewal: a marriage officially ended, a new marriage celebrated, and a family that has learned to speak, forgive, and love each other again.
