Cassie Robbins, a lively sixteen‑year‑old, loves her father Richard, step‑mother Mel, and six‑year‑old half‑brother Willy. When she is diagnosed with leukemia, a bone‑marrow transplant becomes her only hope. Willy is a match, but Mel fears another surgery after his near‑fatal reaction to anesthesia. The family must weigh the painful choice of risking one child’s life to save the other, while Willy wrestles with his role in his sister’s survival.
