Filmed spontaneously, the film blends documentary and fiction as five German researchers arrive on Parapara, a South‑Pacific island in Vanuatu, to study its people. Each studies language, fauna, customs, plants, or oral tradition. Their purpose soon clashes with local values, and the tribal chief questions the outsiders’ motives, fearing exploitation.
