The family moves from Seattle to a Los Angeles house that Deb is instantly drawn to because of its beautiful glass panes. Deb hopes to resume her photography career, while Jim works long hours and Ian adjusts to a new city. They settle in with a mix of optimism and unease about the house's striking but uncanny charm.

In the chimney Deb discovers a painting of Rupert's wife Eleanor and a diary detailing how she was kept prisoner while Rupert claimed her paintings. The diary explains that Eleanor's drawings began to come true because the house's trapping mirrors feed on art and fear. Deb realizes the haunting is rooted in Eleanor's trapped spirit and the couple's dark history.

Deb shows Jim a mysterious door that only exists in the mirror, but he dismisses it as a hallucination and tells her to discuss it tomorrow. Under mounting tension, Deb confronts someone in the house and fires a shot, only to discover it is Jim. He ties Deb up and accuses her of killing people, refusing to believe her explanations about Eleanor and Rupert. The couple's trust collapses as fear turns to a dangerous confrontation.

Deb and Jim are drawn through the mysterious door and vanish like the other victims, ending the immediate threat.

The police are left baffled by blood trails ending at a blank wall. A female officer takes a photo of the mirror and appears to glimpse a ghost, implying that Eleanor's spirit persists and may have possessed the officer. The haunting lingers beyond the apparent end of the story.
