Ending explained
How Dancing Village: The Curse Begins (2024) ends, in short: the final scene, the last twist and what it means for the characters. The full ending explained, with every spoiler, lives on its own page.
The ending of "Dancing Village: The Curse Begins" reveals that Mila manages to escape the spell of Badarawuhi, even though the creature had tried to trap her forever in her dark realm. During the ritual, Mila and Ratih perform the dangerous dance, which is meant to appease Badarawuhi and prevent her from destroying the village. While Mila is in a trance, she enters Badarawuhi’s realm and comes face to face with her mother, Inggri, who is also imprisoned there. Inggri warns Mila not to give in to Badarawuhi’s temptations to stay with her forever. Mila pleads with her mother, but Inggri has already been fully captured by the spirit. As Mila fights to resist the forest ruler’s persuasions, Buyut intervenes by entering the spirit realm himself, using his supernatural abilities to distract Badarawuhi and free Mila from her trance. This act of bravery causes Mila to snap out of her trance and return to the mortal world. Although Ratih succumbs to Badarawuhi’s deception, remaining trapped in the dark realm with her mother, Mila is able to escape. The film leaves it ambiguous whether Mila retains the curse or if the bangle, which may have been lost during the chaos, will eventually lead Badarawuhi back to torment the village again. Ultimately, Mila’s escape hints at the possibility that she might carry the memories and trauma of her ordeal but has avoided being permanently cursed—yet the cycle of evil might continue, as suggested by the repeated returns of the cursed bangle and the ongoing torment in the village. The ending underscores the ongoing battle between good and evil, with Mila’s resilience standing out as her victory over the evil spirits that sought to claim her forever.**
