Crosspoint (2024) Plot Summary & Ending Explained

The film closes on a tense confrontation in a rundown part of the city. After learning that the escaped predator Tatsuya – the same man who brutalised the teenage girl Risako – is still at large, Manuel and Yamaguchi decide to chase him, spurred by the ten‑million‑yen bounty announced on the news. Their plan quickly goes awry: Tatsuya ambushes them, and Yamaguchi is fatally wounded, his life ending in the very streets he had been trying to protect his daughter from. Despite his shock and grief, Manuel manages to subdue the killer and drag him to the waiting police, handing the dangerous criminal over to the authorities.

Because Manuel’s capture of Tatsuya comes at such a cost, the police choose not to press charges for his illegal work status. He refuses the reward, insisting that the money be given to Mayuko, Yamaguchi’s daughter, who has been struggling to gain her father’s acceptance for her musical dreams. In a quiet moment later, Mayuko discovers a club pass that her father had left behind, realizing he had silently attended one of her concerts and supported her from the shadows.
