Set in occupied France during World II, a group gathers for a clueless woman’s birthday, including a Nazi‑collaborating uncle, a blind veteran, a meek doctor, an arrogant teacher, a patriotic girl and the husband. After nearby German soldiers are killed, the Gestapo forces them to pick two for execution or all will be arrested. The tense premise spirals into black comedy as each tries to outwit the others.
