The film follows rookie Ross Martin, who joins the Michigan State Police at the urging of his sweetheart Mary Adams. Eager to prove himself, he quickly earns a reputation for bravery in confronting criminals. When a bank‑robber gang leader he captures later escapes due to Martin’s lapse, he faces suspension, testing his deep loyalty and sense of duty.
