Camille ultimately returns from her existence as a chair to her human body, but the change is not staged as a neat restoration of the woman she was. She releases an unexpected, anguished sound and collapses. Irene and Lisa instinctively move together to catch and lift her, showing up at the moment when Camille can no longer remain the beautiful, silent object onto which other people projected value. The final beat leaves her physically vulnerable and emotionally overwhelmed, held by friends whose affection has often been expressed imperfectly.

Camille’s collapse makes the body swap’s bargain impossible to ignore. As a chair she could be admired, possessed, and placed without exposing a need of her own; becoming human again means accepting speech, pain, appetite, and dependence. Irene and Lisa do not suddenly become flawless companions, but their movement toward her proves that their love is more substantial than their earlier self-involvement suggested. The ending resists both objectification and solitary self-sufficiency. Camille regains a self that can suffer, and with it the possibility of being caught rather than merely displayed.
