Ivan Canabrava, former insurance investigator turned writer, investigates baffling deaths linked to Bufo Marinus—a poisonous frog whose toxin induces catalepsy, mimicking death and enabling huge insurance scams. Ten years later, now a celebrated author, he faces new foes who again use the toxin, crafting an intricate, surprise‑laden conspiracy.
