Steve Raleight is determined to mount a Broadway production. He secures financing from Herman Whipple and casts Sally Lee as the leading lady, but Caroline Whipple insists he hire a known star instead of a newcomer. Sally buys a horse she once trained on her family’s pre‑Depression farm, and, with the help of former vaudevillians Sonny Ledford and Peter Trott, prepares it to win a race. The winnings provide the crucial funds Steve needs to launch his show.
