Torrance Shipman is filled with both excitement and anxiety as she embarks on her senior year of high school. Determined to restore her cheerleading team, the Toros, to their former championship glory, she takes on a leadership role after the graduation of their former captain, Big Red.

Torrance lives with her supportive parents and younger brother, who provide her with a loving yet sometimes stressful home environment. Her mother, Christine, emphasizes the importance of academics, pushing Torrance to prioritize her studies alongside her cheerleading responsibilities.
