An ageing magician devises a risky plan to protect his beloved New York theatre, resorting to real black magic. This dark comedy, from director Onur Tukel, explores themes of gentrification, race, and bodily autonomy through a bizarre and charming narrative. Initially conceived as a four-episode series in 2017, the film has been extensively reworked with new footage, blending harsh realities with fantastical illusions in a unique and intimate parable about the changing face of New York City.
