Set in the 31st century, Earth is dominated by the alien Psychlos who enslave humanity. Humans survive in scattered enclaves and dream of reclaiming their world, while technology sits on a razor’s edge between oppression and revolt. The era fuses rugged wilderness with advanced machinery and a brutal, rigid hierarchy imposed by an extraterrestrial occupier.

The story unfolds across a post-apocalyptic Earth where human communities cling to mountain refuges and a ruined city sits beneath a massive alien dome. Jonnie's people make their home in the Rocky Mountains before venturing into the lowlands and exploring the desolate, overgrown urban landscape. Denver's ruins host the Psychlo base, whose dome preserves a breathable atmosphere and exerts control over the planet.

Oppression under the Psychlos drives the human slaves to seek autonomy. Jonnie’s leadership and the slaves’ resilience push against a militarized regime housed behind the dome. The tale centers on reclaiming dignity, liberty, and the right to live free from alien tyranny.

Jonnie is exposed to Psychlo language and technologies, learning rapidly enough to outsmart his captors. The Library and captured documents become weapons as he spreads knowledge among the enslaved. Knowledge becomes the catalyst that levels the playing field against superior tech.
