Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two

Harvey Dent becomes Two-Face after Sal Maroni throws acid on his face during a courtroom testimony, disfiguring him permanently. Johnny Viti is killed on Halloween by an unknown assailant who leaves behind a staged trail, a pistol, nipple silencer, and jack-o-lantern, mirroring Holiday's signature MO. Viti had taken control of the Gotham City Bank on Falcone's orders after Bruce helped oust the previous president, and he assassinated Richard Daniel to eliminate Falcone's money trail. His death destabilizes Falcone's inner circle and deepens the Holiday mystery.
