The film portrays Russian scientist Klement Timiriazev, who taught at Cambridge and Oxford and earned the Newton Mantle. A Soviet‑backing intellectual, he was chosen by Baltic fleet sailors as a delegate to the Leningrad Soviet, where he condemned fellow scientists for not aiding the revolution and warned that support would come.
