Bad Cat

Shero, a crude and short-tempered tabby cat, rules the night with blunt swagger. After belonging to a man named Tank, he sends his associates Rifki the seagull and Rıza the rat to obtain liquor for a barbecue that night, setting off a chaotic chain of colorfully reckless schemes.

Another cat, Blackie, soon informs Shero of an attractive Siamese cat named Princess living in a nearby apartment. When Princess’s cartoonist owner leaves for work, the duo sneaks into the apartment to charm her, hoping for a quick conquest. But the night spirals into a series of accidents that culminate in Princess’s panicked death. The cartoonist, a brainless cadaver revived by an ambulance defibrillator, returns to a scene of fury, and the confrontation escalates as the cartoonist attacks Shero and Blackie. Blackie is killed in the melee, and Shero’s clash with the cartoonist ends with them tumbling out the window to the street below. The air thick with revenge and guilt, Shero drifts away, only to meet a kitten named Taco who claims to be his illegitimate son. Shero dismisses Taco and heads off to steal fish from Hazel, Tank’s landlady, a plan that’s derailed when Tank throws him out and seals every possible entry.

As Shero sulks, he witnesses Misscat, a beautiful Angora, being harassed by two dogs and intervenes to rescue her. He tries to woo Misscat, but she rebuffs him, telling him to meet again on the same rooftop that night. Meanwhile, the cartoonist’s lifeless body is briefly revived again by the ambulance, and the cartoonist hijacks the vehicle in a determined, vengeful search for Shero.

On his way to bring a bouquet to Misscat, Shero discovers the pursuing cartoonist, while Taco, rummaging for food, trails along behind. Shero and Misscat caper toward a moment of intimacy when they are captured and bound by the dogs and the cartoonist. Just as the cartoonist prepares to electroshock Shero, Taco bursts in, frees him, and a brutal fight ensues. Shero hurls the cartoonist off the building and into a dumpster, with the dogs following in the fall. Taco is brushed aside once more by Shero, who then reveals that his former mate Mimosa is dead—prompting a brief, grudging bond between Shero and Taco as they plot a way to obtain liquor from a nearby grocer.

Their plans are interrupted when the cartoonist hijacks a passing garbage truck and escapes with Taco. Shero fires up the chase, rescues Taco as the truck plunges into the sea, and once again defeats the cartoonist in an underwater battle. Returning home, Misscat is driven away by Hazel, who reinforces the entrance with barbed wire to keep Shero out. The cartoonist’s body is hauled from the sea by a rescue team, only to be revived again when his corpse touches power lines.

After Rifki and Riza’s latest failed attempt to retrieve liquor, Riza proposes a new scheme: they should rob a bank to settle every debt. The cartoonist is briefly captured by the police, but he seizes a police car during the commotion surrounding the bank robbery. As Shero and the others make their getaway, Taco takes a bullet meant for Shero. Believing Taco to be dead, Shero flings the stolen money into a crowded street and departs with Taco’s body in the ensuing chaos. Tank eventually finds them and brings them home; together they revive Taco, and Rifki and Riza return with a single pack of money that clears all of Shero and Tank’s debts. The remaining funds are put toward a final barbecue.

The cartoonist’s body is lifted from the sea by a rescue crew, only to be revived once more when touched by power lines. The last of the money funds the barbecue, and the celebration is interrupted by Misscat’s captive arrival. Shero and Tank confront the cartoonist in a climactic fight that ends with a gas explosion, destroying him once and for all. As fireworks paint the night sky, Shero and Misscat confess their love for each other, sharing a final, defiant moment of affection before the credits roll and they bounce across the world.
