Babes in Toyland

Eleven-year-old Lisa Piper cares for her family after her father's death. She has grown up quickly and has little time for toys or childish things. She is determined not to be treated like a child.

Mary works in a toy store run by a cruel man who harasses her. The looming blizzard adds to the tension around the shop. She and others worry about what Christmas might bring.

Mary and her boyfriend Jack drive Lisa and their friend George home when snowy roads trigger a crash. Lisa is thrown from the car and transported to Toyland. The accident marks the crossing from the ordinary world to a magical realm.

Lisa arrives in Toyland just before Mary Contrary's wedding to Barnaby Barnacle. She interrupts the ceremony, forcing a halt to the marriage. The disruption signals that Toyland may be in real danger.

With help from her new friends, Lisa uncovers Barnaby's plan to take over Toyland. He intends to bend the realm to his will and control its residents. The stakes for Toyland rise quickly.

Barnaby confronts them and steals a flask of distilled evil from the Toymaster. He leaves Lisa and the others to be eaten by Trollog. The danger in Toyland intensifies with this betrayal.

They blind Trollog with paint to escape, but Barnaby's forces capture them one by one and imprison them in Barnaby's hidden fortress. The group becomes separated and trapped within the villain's domain. Hope hangs by a thread as escape seems distant.

In captivity, Barnaby unveils his plan to corrupt them using the flask. He intends to turn Mary into Troll Princess and to transform Lisa into a monstrous figure. The dream of control presses hard on the captives.

After escaping, they return to Toymaster and discover Toyland under attack. Barnaby has ordered Trolls to harass and capture residents, threatening the entire realm. The urgency to act becomes paramount.

Lisa's renewed belief animates an army of life-sized toy soldiers created by the Toymaster. They confront Barnaby's forces and drive them toward the Forest of the Night. The tide of the battle begins to turn.

With Barnaby defeated, he is banished from Toyland for all eternity. Jack and Mary are married, and Toyland begins to heal from the chaos. The community reunites around this new order.

The Toymaster, revealed to be Santa Claus, takes Lisa home in a magical sleigh ride through the stars. They travel the Milky Way as the adventure seems to end. Lisa wakes to the real world, unsure what was dream and what was real.

Back home, Lisa wakes to find a toy soldier identical to those from Toyland standing under the Christmas tree and saluting her. The final salute hints that the magic of Toyland lingers beyond the dream. The film closes on a note of Christmas wonder.
