It marks Welles’s first genuine television work after his studio “Sketch Book”. Though a 1955 contract ordered 26 episodes, only six were completed: Vienna; two on the Basque Country; bullfighting; Paris’s Saint‑Germain‑des‑Prés; and Chelsea retirees. An unfinished episode on the 1952 Domenici Affair would have been the first documentary on that scandal.
