Celebrated for producing some of the cheapest, cheesiest indie fare, Troma takes its chaotic style to Cannes, splashing the red carpet with gallons of fake blood, the outrageous Tronettes, and a wild troupe of volunteer fans who roam the festival in costumes, often nude and drenched in blood. Though any publicity is welcome, the low‑budget company can’t help but wonder how this spectacle will affect its reputation—though the fans seem to be shouting, “woohoo!”.
