Aasha

Deepak, a truck driver, gives a lift to the stranded singer Aasha after her vehicle breaks down. Their encounter sparks a budding friendship between them. Deepak is secretly in love with Mala, the woman who will eventually become his wife.

Deepak marries Mala, sealing their bond and starting their life together. Aasha supports them as a friend and wishes them well, even as she harbors her own unspoken feelings.

Soon after the wedding, Deepak is involved in a serious accident, and everyone believes he has died. His family and Mala are overwhelmed with grief as they mourn the loss.

Mala, who is pregnant, returns to her family and is urged by her grieving mother to move on and forget Deepak. The pressure from her surroundings compounds her distress during this uncertain time.

Mala travels back to her father's house, hoping for support, but he dies soon after. His death deepens her sorrow and sets the stage for more tragedy.

In a moment of desperation, Mala jumps from a bridge into the river. She is rescued by members of a temple community, but the ordeal leaves her permanently blind.

Not long after, Mala gives birth to a daughter and names her Deepamala, blending her and Deepak's names. The baby arrives as Mala grieves the losses around her.

Deepak survives and returns home to a joyous welcome from his mother, but is devastated when he learns Mala had attempted suicide. He sinks into a deep depression.

Aasha re-enters Deepak's life and helps him climb out of his depression. The two become engaged, and they are drawn to the young girl Deepamala who sells small statues on the street.

They are enchanted by Deepamala, the little girl who sells statues on the street. They do not yet know that she is actually Deepak's daughter.

Aasha meets Mala and offers to pay for her eye operation so she can regain her sight. She also invites Mala and Deepamala to attend her wedding.

Mala regains her eyesight and attends Aasha's wedding. The sight of Deepak shocks her, and she leaves to avoid disrupting their life together.

A silent admirer informs Deepak that Mala is alive. They also reveal that Deepamala is his daughter.

Aasha cancels the wedding. She calls him 'dost' and urges him to reunite with his wife and daughter.

Aasha goes back on stage to sing her signature song 'Shisha Ho Ya Dil Ho, Aakhir Toot Jata Hai,' as the story closes. The finale underscores the film's themes of heartbreak and fragile bonds.
