A Small September Affair

Eylül (Farah Zeynep Abdullah) is introduced as a young, wealthy woman dating successful movie star Atil (Onur Tuna). She claims not to be in love despite their relationship, indicating some emotional distance. They travel together, setting the stage for the story's emotional developments.

While traveling with Atil, Eylül's car crashes, resulting in minor injuries for both. The accident triggers her memory loss of the past month of September, which she cannot recall, creating a mystery about her recent experiences.

Eylül travels with her best friend Berrak to Bozcaada, where she had spent the missing month. The visit is aimed at uncovering her lost memories and understanding her recent past, leading her to meet Tekin, a local man.

Eylül encounters Tek, a native who paints caravans and signboards. He claims they have met before and that she fell in love with him, but she cannot remember. Tek uses caricatures to explain their past connection.

In the past month, Eylül was on vacation on Bozcada Island with friends. Tek, who is infatuated with her, starts pursuing her, inviting her to traditional meals, sunsets, and parties, gradually developing a romantic connection.

Eylül, initially viewing Tek as a fleeting summer interest, begins to grow attached as they spend more time together. She joins him swimming, despite his fear of water, and they share a romantic evening, deepening their bond.

Eylül feels conflicted about her feelings and her existing relationship with Atil. She is hesitant to admit her love for Tek, leading to moments of emotional tension and hesitation in their budding relationship.

Eylül and Tek become intimate, and she realizes she has fallen for him. However, when she prepares to leave, she panics upon seeing her reflection, recognizes how much she has changed, and decides to leave Tek behind, ending their summer romance.

Tek, heartbroken after Eylül leaves, approaches her friends during a gathering and claims Eylül is his girlfriend. When she dismisses him, Tek walks into the water and drowns, marking a tragic climax to the romantic story.

Back in the present day, Eylül discovers that the crash happened because she saw Tek's obituary in the newspaper. In a panic, she drove recklessly, seeking closure or to revisit her lost memories.

Eylül, dives into the water and finds Tek's pen, symbolically reconnecting with her past. She writes in the sand that she loves him, expressing her unresolved feelings and acknowledging their passionate connection.

Eylül writes a note to the strawman in Tek's garden with his pen, creating a makeshift gravestone. This act signifies her acceptance of both her memories and the profound impact Tek had on her life.
