A League of Ordinary Gentlemen

In 1899, a group of men disguised as German soldiers successfully infiltrate the Bank of England. Their objective is to steal Leonardo Da Vinci's intricate layouts of Venice's foundations, escalating tensions between Britain and Germany.

Shortly after the bank heist, the leader known as the 'Fantom' directs his men, dressed as British officers, to kidnap German scientists. This act not only causes a stir in international relations but also threatens to ignite a war.

Sanderson Reed of the British Empire travels to Kenya to recruit the legendary hunter Allan Quatermain. Despite Quatermain's initial reluctance and mourning of his son, an assassination attempt forces him to comply with Reed's request.

In London, Quatermain meets with 'M', the employer of Reed, who reveals the Fantom's sinister plans to destroy Venice. The aim is to prevent a global conference of leaders, a move intended to spark world war for profit.

M introduces Quatermain to the formation of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, comprising unique individuals. This team includes Captain Nemo, chemist Mina Harker, and the invisible thief Rodney Skinner, each with their special talents.

The League embarks on a mission to recruit Dorian Gray, an immortal man with a hidden portrait that bears the signs of aging. Although Dorian is hesitant to join due to a past with Mina, an attack by the Fantom's men prompts his enlistment.

With the addition of Dorian and U.S. Agent Tom Sawyer, the League sets sail in Captain Nemo's submarine, the Nautilus. Their next objective is to find Mr. Hyde, a dangerous figure they believe can aid in their mission.

The League successfully captures Mr. Hyde in Paris. In a tense negotiation, Quatermain convinces Hyde to join their quest by granting him amnesty for his past crimes, leading to a transformation back into his gentler counterpart, Dr. Jekyll.

As the Nautilus travels to Venice, tensions rise within the League as it becomes apparent that a saboteur is lurking among them. Skinner faces accusations of betrayal when evidence suggests he may be the mole.

Upon arriving in Venice, a series of explosives begin to detonate, threatening to obliterate the city. In a race against time, the League works swiftly to neutralize the bombs before they can trigger further destruction.

Quatermain confronts the Fantom during the chaotic battle, only to be shocked to discover that the Fantom is actually 'M'. Amidst the ensuing battle, they manage to launch a missile that saves the remnants of Venice.

The League uncovers M's true intentions of creating superhuman soldiers using the group's unique abilities. Dorian Gray reveals himself as a traitor, leading to a chaotic escape that ends with bombs on the Nautilus.

In a climactic battle, Quatermain confronts his nemesis, Moriarty. The fight escalates with revelations about Sawyer's capture, culminating in a tense showdown that results in tragic losses for the League.

Injured from his confrontation, Quatermain imparts his final wisdom to Sawyer before succumbing to his wounds. His death symbolizes the end of an era, marking a poignant moment for the League as they reflect on his legacy.

Quatermain is buried in Kenya beside his son, establishing a connection to his heritage. The ritual performed by a witch doctor hints that Quatermain's spirit may linger on, leaving his fate ambiguous as lightning strikes his grave.
