A Close Shave

A stray sheep wanders into Wallace's home. Wallace loads it into the Knit-o-Matic, which shears the wool and knits jumpers from it. He names the sheep Shaun after this encounter.

Wallace meets the wool shopkeeper Wendolene Ramsbottom and develops feelings for her. He tries to impress her while dealing with the ongoing sheep business. The moment sets up tension as Wendolene's dog Preston is involved in the sheep rustling.

Preston steals Wallace's Knit-o-Matic blueprints to continue sheep rustling. When Gromit investigates, Preston captures him and frames him for the theft and the sheep rustling. The incident escalates the conflict between the characters.

Gromit is arrested after being framed, and Wallace's home is flooded with an unexpected influx of sheep. The chaotic invasion disrupts daily life as the friends try to navigate the misunderstanding. Shaun watches the chaos with a calm, sly air.

Wallace and a flock of sheep devise a plan to rescue Gromit from custody. They manage to free him from confinement and the trio hides out in the surrounding fields. The bond between Wallace, Gromit, and Shaun grows stronger as they regroup.

Wendolene and Preston arrive in a lorry to round up the sheep, meanwhile Preston traps Wendolene inside the vehicle with the flock. They drive off toward Preston's dog food factory, intending to turn the sheep into dog food. The plan demonstrates Preston's ruthless approach.

Wallace and Gromit pursue the lorry on a motorcycle, but Gromit's sidecar detaches. Gromit activates its aeroplane mode and continues the chase from the air, catching up to the wheels. The duo's ingenuity keeps them in the fight.

Wallace ends up trapped in the lorry as Wendolene and the sheep are transported to Preston's dog food factory. Inside, the captives await a grim fate while Preston's operation continues. Escape becomes the group’s only hope.

Inside the factory, the captives are loaded into a wash basin. Shaun escapes and activates neon signs to reveal the factory's location to Gromit. Gromit launches an attack on Preston to shut down the operation.

Wendolene reveals that Preston is a robot built by her deceased inventor father. His erratic behavior is a malfunction, not a natural trait of the dog. This twist reframes the conflict and offers a path to resolution.

The Knit-o-Matic dresses Preston in a sweater made from his fur and accidentally hits a control that could send him toward the mincing machine. The assembled characters scramble to avert disaster as the machine roars to life. Tension peaks as the fate of all hangs in the balance.

In a bold move, Shaun pushes Preston into the mincing machine, ending the immediate threat. The machine is stopped, saving the others from a grisly fate. With the danger gone, the villains’ power crumbles.

Wallace rebuilds Preston as a harmless remote-controlled dog, turning the threat into a safe gadget. Gromit is exonerated from the false frame-up. The friends celebrate the victory and enjoy a return to normal life.

Wendolene decides to part ways, revealing she is allergic to cheese which explains her distance. Wallace is left heartbroken but remains loyal to his friend Gromit. The romance seems over, casting a bittersweet tone over the ending.

Wallace tries to cheer himself up with some cheese, only to discover Shaun has eaten it all. The moment adds a light comic touch to the conclusion, underscoring Shaun's mischievous charm. Wallace and Shaun share a final, cheeky moment as the film closes.
