Following his grandfather’s death, Israeli expatriate Benny returns home to Israel with his girlfriend, Sara. His family eagerly anticipates meeting her, but their excitement soon turns to suspicion. They discover that Benny and Sara’s initial encounter occurred outside a synagogue, and her name is actually Zahra Abdulla, born in Germany to a German mother and an Egyptian father. As the family’s anxieties escalate, long-held secrets are revealed, demonstrating that Benny and Zahra are not the only ones attempting to conceal parts of their past.
