For most of the year Evaristo, Máximo and Jacinto obsess over their summer holidays, each coping with Madrid’s scorching 40‑degree heat in his own way. Beach‑loving Evaristo and his wife Filomena battle crowded sands and endless chiringuito queues. Mountain‑fan Máximo rents a villa for his family, mother‑in‑law included. Gym owner Jacinto sends his wife and children to Benidorm while he remains in the capital.
