In the Slovenian town of Rovte, nestled under the Alps, the corrupt mayor Franta faces an unexpected challenge: he's losing the upcoming election. After a disastrous television debate, he seeks help from his mistress, Jozica, who suggests enlisting the assistance of Fleischmann, a local criminal. With only four days remaining until the election, Franta resorts to increasingly desperate measures to maintain his position, exploring themes of political corruption, electoral fraud, and the erosion of ethical standards.
